The first class is held indoors Wednesday night after work.  Unfortunately for those of us down in Orange County it's a bit of a drive but it only happens twice a year.

For more about what AMP is see here.

The class starts with Dan Richter and Pat McKusky talking about the course and introducing basic gear and safety systems.

Next everyone gets harnesses on and we discuss types, proper fit, and things to watch out for.

The rest of the night is spent in groups with two students working with one instructor practicing the knots which will be used throughout the course along with basic rope handling and coiling.
